Oxygen Sensor

The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust headpipe. To replace it, unplug the connector and unscrew the sensor using either a flare end wrench, long socket with a slot in it( to allow the wire to remain undamaged during removal and installation) or one of the specialty tools made for removing this sensor. Replacement senors will be packaged with anti-sieze compound for the threads. If not, or if you are reinstalling the old unit, the threads MUST be coated with anti-sieze compound! Tighten the sensor to 12 ft. lbs. (16 Nm).
