The level of the fluid in the power steering reservoir should be checked every six months or 6,000 miles (4 months or 4,000 miles-1973). Run the engine until the fluid is at normal operating temperature. Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times, and turn OFF the engine. On 1965-1966 models, the reservoir must be filled to the bottom of the filler neck. On 1967 and later models, a dipstick is affixed to the reservoir cap. The level must show on the cross hatching between the bottom of the dipstick and the FULL mark. Top off the reservoir using automatic transmission fluid.

Do not overfill.
