REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
See Figures 1 and 21976-79 F-100-350
Swing the arm and blade away from the windshield and insert a 3 / 32 inch pin through the pin hole. Swinging the assembly away from the windshield will release the spring loaded attaching clip in the arm from the pivot shaft. Inserting the pin will hold it in the released position. The arm can now be pulled off the pivot shaft using a wiper arm removal tool.
To replace the arm, hold it in the bent position, slide it on the pivot and remove the pin.
Some models do not use the pin type wiper arms. On these models the arm is released by lifting the wiper arm up slightly and releasing the tab under the pivot portion of the arm.
See Figures 2, 3 and 4
Raise the blade end of the arm off of the windshield and move the slide latch away from the pivot shaft. This will unlock the wiper arm from the pivot shaft and hold the blade end of the arm off of the glass at the same time. The wiper arm can now be pulled off of the pivot shaft without the aid of any tools.
