The exhaust back pressure (EBP) sensor is a variable capacitance sensor that when supplied with a 5-volt reference signal from the PCM, produces a linear analog voltage signal that indicates exhaust back pressure. The EBP sensor is the input to the PCM used to control the exhaust back pressure regulator.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Detach the EBP sensor connector.
- Using a suitable tool, remove the EBP sensor from the engine.
- The installation is the reverse of the removal.
