There are several components in the front end and steering that require periodic lubrication. Typically these components include the tie rod ends, ball joints, pitman arm, and several other components in the steering system such as an idler arm or center link that vary by model. Any greaseable item will be identifiable by a grease or Zerk® fitting on the component.
Some components are permanently lubricated during manufacture and do not need periodic maintenance. These components can be identified by the lack of a grease fitting.
Inspect each component to be lubricated. Replace components with torn/ruptured seals. Damaged seals will eventually leak grease or allow contaminates to enter and eventually cause component failure and/or seizure.
