Ford Probe 1989-1992 Repair Guide

The Probe is the product of a joint venture between the Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Corporation. First introduced in May of 1988 as a 1989 model, the Probe has been very successful for Ford due to its attractive aerodynamic styling and exceptional performance.

During the first model year of production, the Probe was available with a 2.2L normally aspirated 4-cylinder engine in GL and LX models, and a 2.2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the GT model. For the 1990 model year, the Probe received minor body restyling and a 3.0L V6 engine was introduced as standard equipment on the LX model. Appearance and powertrain have remained consistent through the 1992 model year.
