Child Safety Lock

The child safety lock, when used, prevents the rear doors from being opened from the inside of the vehicle. The child safety lock is designed into the rear latch bellcrank assembly. A gold colored decal is located on the rear door of a 4 door equipped vehicle, to alert the owner of this option.

To engage the child safety feature, move the lever, located below the latch assembly, up. This will prevent the door from being open from the inside, although it still can be opened from the outside of the vehicle. To disengage the child safety lock, move the lever down.
