The maximum trailer weight that your vehicle can safely handle is 1000 lbs. gross trailer axle weight with a minimum tongue load of 100 lbs. If there is any question about the weight which is to be carried, the best advise is, it is far better to carry less than more. Towing a heavy load in excess of manufacturer guidelines can void any factory warranty, as well as destroy the drivetrain and transaxle within a few miles.
