Removal & Installation
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
Relieve the pressure from the fuel system.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor connector
Breather hose from cylinder head cover
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose
Fuel injector electrical connections
Fuel feed line at the fuel rail
Fuel rail retaining bolts
Fuel rail with injectors attached
Fuel injector retaining clips
Fuel injectors from rail by pulling down and out
Injector O-ring and discard

Different injectors are calibrated for different flow rates. When ordering new fuel injectors, be certain to order the identical part number that is inscribed on the old injector.
Lubricate the new injector O-rings with engine oil.
Injector to the fuel rail with terminals facing outward, and secure with retaining clip. Be sure that the clips are parallel to the injector harness connector.
Install or connect the following:
New injector O-rings
Fuel injector and fuel rail assembly into the cylinder head
Fuel rail retaining bolts and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm)
Fuel feed line to the fuel rail
Fuel injector electrical connections. Rotate each injector as required.
Throttle cable to the throttle body and bracket
PCV hose to the cylinder head cover
Breather hose to the cylinder head cover
IAT sensor connector
Connect the negative battery cable.
With the ignition
and the engine
check for leaks.
