Trailing Arm

Removal & Installation



Convertible Models
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear frame brace.
  6.  
  7. Remove the rear axle tie rod bracket brace.
  8.  
  9. Remove the 2 trailing arm bracket to body bolts.
  10.  
  11. Remove the rear parking brake cable routing bolt from the trailing arm.
  12.  
  13. Remove the 3 trailing arm to knuckle through bolts.
  14.  
  15. Lower the trailing arm to gain access to the trailing arm to bracket bolt and nut.
  16.  
  17. Remove the trailing arm to bracket bolt and nut.
  18.  
  19. Separate the trailing arm from the bracket and remove the trailing arm from the vehicle.
  20.  

To install:

  1. Position the trailing arm to the bracket, install the bolt and nut.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the trailing arm to bracket through bolt and nut to 44 ft. lbs. (60 Nm) plus 60 degrees.
  4.  
  5. Position the trailing arm to the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Install the 3 trailing arm to knuckle bolts.
  8.  
  9. Tighten the 3 trailing arm to knuckle bolts to 133 ft. lbs. (180 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Install the rear parking brake cable routing bolt to the trailing arm.
  12.  
  13. Tighten the routing bolt to 89 inch. lbs. (10 Nm).
  14.  
  15. Install the 2 trailing arm bracket to body bolts.
  16.  
  17. Tighten the bracket to body bolts to 66 ft. lbs. (90 Nm) plus 30 degrees plus an additional 15 degrees.
  18.  
  19. Install the rear axle tie rod bracket brace.
  20.  
  21. Install the rear frame brace.
  22.  
  23. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly.
  24.  
  25. Lower the vehicle
  26.  

Sedan & Coupe Models
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wheels.
  4.  
  5. Remove the trailing arm bracket-to-body bolts.
  6.  
  7. Remove the trailing arm-to-knuckle through bolt.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the trailing arm.
  10.  
  11. Remove the trailing arm.
  12.  
  13. Remove the trailing arm-to-bracket bolt and nut.
  14.  
  15. Remove the trailing arm from the bracket.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Assemble the trailing arm and bracket.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the trailing arm-to-bracket through bolt to 44 ft. lbs. (60 Nm) plus 60 degrees.
  4.  
  5. Position the trailing arm to the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Install the trailing arm to knuckle bolts and tighten to 133 ft. lbs. (180 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Connect the parking brake cable to the trailing arm.
  10.  
  11. Install the trailing arm bracket-to-body bolts and tighten to 66 ft. lbs. (90 Nm) plus 30 degrees plus an additional 15 degrees.
  12.  
  13. Install the tire and wheel.
  14.  
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16.
