Many of the vehicles covered by this guide are equipped with an engine oil cooler. The factory engine oil cooler assembly is part of the radiator assembly. The cooler works as the oil pump sends oil through the lines (leaving the block at the oil filter adapter), through the cooler tank (in the radiator) and then back to the oil filter adapter and engine block cooling passages. For details on removal and installation of the cooler/radiator, please refer to the radiator removal procedure found earlier in this section.
