  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lower steering column cover-to-instrument panel screws and the cover.
  4.  
  5. Remove the instrument cluster trim plate-to-instrument cluster screws and the panel, then allow the panel to hang to the left side by the wiring.
  6.  
  7. Remove the air conditioning control-to-instrument panel screws and move the control assembly aside.
  8.  
  9. For access, remove the seat alarm assembly from the bracket, on the left side of the instrument panel.
  10.  
  11. Remove the instrument panel cluster-to-instrument panel fasteners and the cluster assembly.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the speedometer cable (of applicable), the speed sensor and any other necessary electrical connectors.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Connect the speedometer cable (if applicable), the speed sensor and any other necessary electrical connectors.
  2.  
  3. Install the instrument panel cluster-to-instrument panel fasteners and the cluster assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install the seat alarm assembly on the bracket, on the left side of the instrument panel.
  6.  
  7. Install the air conditioning control-to-instrument panel screws and the control assembly.
  8.  
  9. Install the instrument cluster trim plate-to-instrument cluster screws and the panel.
  10.  
  11. Install the lower steering column cover-to-instrument panel screws and the cover.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery and check operation.
  14.  

1996 Models

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Apply the parking brake and turn the key to the ON position. Place the gear selector in 1st gear.
  4.  
  5. Pull the trim plate away from the dash until all the connectors are released. Unplug any electrical connections.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 4 screws holding the instrument cluster to the dash. Pull the cluster out from the electrical connectors.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Align the instrument cluster with the electrical connectors and push into place.
  2.  
  3. Install the 4 instrument cluster screws.
  4.  
  5. Place the trim plate in place and connect the electrical plugs. Press the trim plate into the connectors until they are all firmly attached.
  6.  
  7. Return the gear selector to PARK and turn the ignition switch to OFF . Connect the negative battery cable.
