Windshield Wiper Motor

The windshield wiper motor is located in the engine compartment on the left side of the cowl.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Front Wipers

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor.
  2.  
  3. Remove the transmission link from the wiper motor crank arm by pulling or prying it toward the rear of the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wiper motor-to-cowl bolts and the wiper motor from the vehicle.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Install the wiper motor-to-cowl bolts and the wiper motor in the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Connect the transmission link to the wiper motor crank arm by pushing toward the front of the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Attach the electrical connector to the windshield wiper motor.
  6.  
  7. Check for proper operation.

Rear Wipers

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor.
  2.  
  3. Remove the trim from over the motor assembly.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical plug.
  6.  
  7. Remove the wiper arm from the wiper motor shaft.
  8.  
  9. Remove the nut, spacer, seal and the 2 bolts from the motor. Lift the motor out of the tailgate.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install the motor, bolts, seal, spacer and nut. Torque the bolts to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the wiper arm and plug in the electrical connector.
  4.  
  5. Install the trim and connect the negative battery cable.
  6.
