REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the door trim panel. For details, please refer to the procedure earlier in this section.
  2.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.
  5. Remove the armrest bracket-to-door screws and the bracket.
  6.
  7. Remove the water deflector from the door.
  8.

The water deflector is secured by a strip of adhesive between the deflector and door, as well as waterproof sealing tape. Upon installation, make sure a good seal is achieved to keep water from entering the body. If necessary, use strip caulking as a sealant between the deflector and door.

  1. Raise the window to the Full Up position. Using cloth backed tape, tape the glass to the door frame.
  2.
  3. Disengage the electrical wiring connector from the window regulator motor.
  4.
  5. Separate the regulator lift arm roller from the window sash.
  6.
  7. To remove the window regulator motor from the door:
    1. Drill a hole through the regulator sector gear and backplate, then install a bolt/nut to lock the sector gear in position.
    2.

  8.

CAUTION
The sector gear MUST be locked into position. The regulator lift arm is under tension from the counterbalance spring and could cause personal injury if the sector gear is not locked before the motor is disconnected.

    1. Using a 3 / 16 in. (5mm) drill bit, drill out the motor-to-door rivets.
    2.
    3. Remove the motor from the door.
    4.

To install:
  1. Position the motor to the regulator, then secure using 3 / 16 in. (5mm) rivets.
  2.
  3. After the motor is riveted to the door, remove the nut/bolt from the sector gear.
  4.
  5. Install the regulator lift arm roller to the window mount sash.
  6.
  7. The balance of installation is the reverse of removal. It is advisable to check operation of the system before installing the water deflector and trim panel.
