Door Lock Cylinder

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1, 2 and 3

  1. Raise the glass to its full up position.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the trim panel and water deflector.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the lock rods.
  8.  
  9. Remove lock rod clips. They should be replaced with new ones. They usually break during removal.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the electric lock wiring.
  12.  
  13. Remove the electric lock mechanism retaining screws.
  14.  
  15. Remove the lock mechanism.
  16.  
  17. Remove the lock cylinder retainer by prying out with a flat blade tool. Use care not to damage vehicle or cause personal injury when prying. Remove the lock cylinder.

To install:
  1. Install the lock cylinder and electric lock mechanism, if equipped.
  2.  
  3. Install the retaining screws.
  4.

  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2.  
  3. Install the new lock clips to the rods and install the lock rods.
  4.  
  5. Install the trim panel and water deflector.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.
