Pressure Warning Switch

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Depressurize the accumulator, as outlined earlier in this section.
  4.  
  5. Detach the electrical connector from the pressure/warning switch.
  6.  
  7. Remove the pressure/warning switch using special tool J-35804 or equivalent.
  8.  
  9. Remove the O-ring from the switch, then discard the O-ring.
  10.

To install:
  1. Lubricate a new O-ring with clean brake fluid.
  2.  
  3. Install the O-ring on the pressure/warning switch.
  4.  
  5. Install the switch and tighten to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm), using the special tool.
  6.  
  7. Attach the electrical connector to the pressure/warning switch.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  
  11. Turn the ignition to the ON position. The BRAKE light should go out within 60 seconds.
  12.  
  13. Check for leakage around the switch.
  14.
