Blower Motor

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Buick
1975 AND 1976
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Support the hood and loosen the hood hinge from the extension and plate assembly.
  2.  
  3. Remove the extension and plate assembly.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the blower motor wire.
  6.  
  7. Remove the blower motor attaching screws and motor.
  8.  

Oldsmobile and Pontiac
1975 AND 1976
  1. Raise the front of the vehicle, support with jackstands and remove the right front wheel.
  2.  
  3. Cut an access hole along the stamped outline on the right fender skirt, using an air chisel or electric hand sabre saw.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the blower power wire.
  6.  
  7. Remove the blower.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Install the blower with the fan, tighten the mounting screws, connect the motor wiring and covering the access hole with a metal plate secured with sealer and sheet metal screws if a hole was cut.
  2.  
  3. Connect the negative battery cable and check for proper operation.
  4.

All Models
1977 TO 1990
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, the blower motor feed wire and the ground wire.
  2.  
  3. Remove the blower motor retaining screws and remove the motor.
  4.  

To install:
  1. Use sealer as needed to make a watertight seal, position the motor/fan into the heater module, tighten the mounting screws, connect the motor wiring and negative battery cable and check for proper operation.
  2.
