REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9

Center Pillar Trim
  1. Remove the door sill plate screws and the sill plate.
  2.  
  3. Remove the seat belt guide cover and remove the guide anchor bolt.
  4.  
  5. Remove the upper and lower panel trim screws.
  6.  
  7. Remove the safety belt anchor bolt.
  8.  
  9. Remove the upper and lower trim panels.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque the anchor bolts to 31 ft. lbs. (42 Nm).

Body Lock Pillar Trim
  1. Remove the seat cushion and rear seatback on sedans. Fold the second seat forward on wagons.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear door sill plate and screws.
  4.  
  5. Remove the trim screws and remove the panel.
  6.  
  7. On wagons, disengage the plastic clips. Pull the body lock pillar panel from the wheelhouse trim panel or spare tire cover panel. Remove the lower panel.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Quarter Upper Panel
  1. Remove the rear seatback and cushion.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear door sill plate and screws.
  4.  
  5. Remove the body lock pillar panel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the shelf-mounted stoplamp, if equipped.
  8.  
  9. Remove the back window garnish molding.
  10.  
  11. Remove the quarter upper panel using a retaining clip remover or tool J-24595-C. Make sure the tool engages around the fasteners, then pry in to remove the fasteners.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  14.

Spare Tire Cover Panel
  1. To remove the spare tire cover on wagons, grasp the cover panel at the back body opening and pull in to disengage it from the rear tabs and retaining channels.

  3. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Trim Panel and Stowage Pocket Assembly
  1. Remove the screws that secure the wheelhouse trim panel to the quarter belt rail. Open the stowage compartment door to reach these screws.
  2.  
  3. Pull the top of the trim panel inboard to separate it from the garnish molding. Lift the trim panel upward to disengage the bottom edge from the slot in the load floor. Pull the trim panel rearward to complete removal.
  4.  
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Back Body Pillar Panel
  1. Remove the left wheelhouse trim panel or the spare tire cover panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the panel attaching screws.
  4.  
  5. Remove the back body pillar panel by grasping the end of the back body molding and rotating it inboard to release it from the forward end of the back body pillar panel.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  8.
