5.7L (V8) DIESEL ENGINE



The engine is properly timed when the injection pump timing mark is aligned between the edges of the pump adapter. If the engine is not aligned, perform the following procedures:

  1. Loosen the injection pump-to-bracket nuts.
  2.  
  3. Turn the injection pump to align the timing marks with the adapter. Torque the injection pump-to-bracket nuts to 18 ft. lbs. (24 Nm).
  4.  

Using a3/4in. wrench on the boss at the front of the injection pump will aid in the rotation of the pump.

  1. If necessary, check and/or tighten the fuel lines. Adjust the throttle linkage. Start the engine and check the operation.
