Power Seat Motor

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Two Way Type
  1. If operable, operate the seat to the midway position.
  2.  
  3. Remove the seat adjuster-to-floor pan attaching nuts and bolts, then tilt the seat rearward.
  4.  
  5. On the full width seat, disconnect both power drive cables from the motor.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the feed wire harness from the actuator motor.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screws that secure the motor support to the seat bottom frame and remove the motor with the attached support from the seat frame.
  10.  
  11. Remove the screws securing the motor support bracket and remove the motor assembly.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Six Way Seats

TRANSMISSION TYPE



  1. Remove the seat assembly with the attached adjusters, motor and transmission, then place upside down on a clean, protected surface.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the motor feed wires from the motor control relay.
  4.  
  5. Remove the two motor support attaching screws; then remove the three screws attaching the transmission to the motor. Move the motor outboard (away from the transmission) enough to disengage the motor from the rubber coupling.
  6.  
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure making sure the rubber coupling is properly engaged at both the motor and transmission. Secure the seat harness correctly and check operation.

3 MOTOR DIRECT DRIVE TYPE
  1. Remove the seat assembly with the attached adjusters, motor and transmission, then place upside down on a clean, protected surface.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the motor wire harness connector at the motor.
  4.  
  5. Remove the screw securing the motor assembly support to the motor mounting bracket on the adjuster.
  6.  
  7. Carefully disengage the drive cables from the adjusters, remove the nut from the motor stabilizer rod and remove the motor assembly from the adjusters. The drive cables may be removed from the motor.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the adjusters are in phase with each other. If necessary, remove one cable and adjust one gearnut to align with the other.
