REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1990 Deville and Fleetwood
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the right sound insulator.
  4.  
  5. Slide the EBCM from the bracket and detach the harness connector.
  6.  

To install:

  1. Connect the harness connector.
  2.  
  3. Slide the EBCM into the bracket.
  4.  
  5. Install the right sound insulator.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.

1990 Eldorado and Seville
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Open the trunk and remove the left trunk carpet trim.
  4.  
  5. Detach the harness connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the EBCM from the mounting bracket.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Attach the EBCM to the mounting bracket.
  2.  
  3. Connect the harness connector.
  4.  
  5. Install the left trunk carpet trim and close the trunk.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  

1991-93 Fleetwood and Deville
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the right and left sound insulators from the instrument panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the floor outlet for the heating and cooling system.
  6.  
  7. Remove the EBCM retaining bolt and slide the unit toward the accelerator pedal.
  8.  
  9. Detach the harness connector and remove the EBCM.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Connect the wiring harness connector to the EBCM.
  2.  
  3. Slide the EBCM into its mounting bracket and install the retaining bolt. Tighten the bolt to 19 inch lbs. (2.2 Nm) on 1991 vehicles or 42 inch lbs. (4.7 Nm) on 1992-93 vehicles.
  4.  
  5. Install the floor outlet and the sound insulators.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.

1991-98 Eldorado and Seville; 1994-98 Deville
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Open the trunk and remove the necessary carpeting to gain access to the EBCM/EBTCM.
  4.  
  5. Detach the harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM.
  6.  
  7. Remove the EBCM/EBTCM from its mounting bracket.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Secure the EBCM/EBTCM in its mounting bracket.
  2.  
  3. Connect the wiring harness connector. Make sure the connector is securely mated to the EBCM/EBTCM.
  4.  
  5. Reposition the carpet and close the trunk.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.
