Optional radios include the double DIN radio assemblies featuring ETR (electronically tuned receiver) tuning, vacuum fluorescent display, AM stereo and FM stereo, seek and scan tuning, preset equalization, speed compensated volume and digital clock display. Two radios are available.



AM/FM Stereo and Clock and Tape Player Radio Assembly with equalizer.
 
AM/FM Stereo and Clock and Tape Player and Compact Disc Player Radio Assembly with equalizer.
 
Both radios use six speakers: two speakers and two tweeters mounted in the front side doors and two in the rear shelf of the vehicle.
 

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Catera
  1. Set the parking brake.
  2.  
  3. Move the gear selector to the full rear position (1st gear).
  4.  
  5. Remove the I/P bezel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the radio mounting screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the radio from the HVAC control head mounting bracket.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the antenna connector.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the wiring harness connector.
  14.

To install:

  1. Connect the wiring harness connector.
  2.  
  3. Connect the antenna connector.
  4.  
  5. Install the radio into the HVAC control head mounting bracket.
  6.  
  7. Install the radio mounting screws until fully seated and not stripped.
  8.  
  9. Install the I/P bezel.
  10.  

1990-93 Deville and Fleetwood
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the ashtray.
  6.  
  7. Remove one screw from the rear radio support bracket and 2 screws from the front of the radio.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the radio wiring connectors and antenna lead.
  10.  
  11. Remove the nuts from the brackets and remove the brackets. On 1992-93 vehicles, remove the 5 push-on clips.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

1990-91 Eldorado and Seville
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Carefully pop out the radio trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Twist the left-hand A/C vent to remove.
  6.  
  7. Remove the instrument panel trim plate retaining screws and remove the trim plate.
  8.

  1. Loosen the lower mounting nuts under the radio.
  2.  
  3. Slide the radio forward and disconnect the wiring connectors and antenna lead. Remove the radio.
  4.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  

1992-98 Eldorado and Seville and 1994-98 Deville
RADIO CONTROL HEAD WITH CONSOLE SHIFT
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the console trim plate; it pulls up first from the upper edge.
  6.  
  7. Remove the nuts from the bottom of the control head.
  8.  
  9. Twist the control head so the right side exits first from the dash to clear the connectors on the left side.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the wiring connectors and remove the radio control head.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

RADIO CONTROL HEAD WITH COLUMN SHIFT
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 4 screws from the side brackets.
  6.  
  7. Pull out the control head and disconnect the wiring connectors. Remove the radio control head.
  8.  

To install:

  1. The installation is the reverse of removal.
