  1. Remove the door panel.
  2.
  3. Remove the water deflector. Note the position of the water deflector prior to removal, as it must be reinstalled in the same position to prevent water leaks.
  4.
  5. Remove the inner belt sealing strip as follows:
    1. Remove the mirror.
    2.
    3. Remove the screw at mirror bucket end of the sealing strip.
    4.
    5. Remove the fasteners at the rear edge of the door.
    6.
    7. Lift upward to remove the sealing strip.
    8.

  6.
  7. Loosen and allow the rear wedge to drop.
  8.
  9. Remove the window guide blocks.
  10.
  11. Position the window to gain access to the 3 window sash-to-regulator bolts.
  12.
  13. Have an assistant hold the window, then remove the 3 window sash-to-regulator bolts.
  14.
  15. Remove the window from the door.
  16.
  17. Remove the run channel retaining bolts and lift both run channels up and out of the adjuster.
  18.

To install:

  1. Place the window and run channels on a bench.
  2.
  3. Place the guide blocks on the window and loosely secure with the bolts.
  4.
  5. Place the run channels fully into the guide blocks and adjust the guide block parallelism to run channel. There should be a 1 / 2 in. (12mm) gap between the edge of the window and the run channel.
  6.
  7. Set the guide block to the alignment mark on the guide block retainer as illustrated. Tighten the guide blocks.
  8.
  9. Remove the screw and nut and remove the door lower molding and adjuster access plugs. Set the bevel adjusters to mid point (approximately 12 full revolutions from the full inward or outward travel stops). Leave the molding and adjuster access plugs off.
  10.
  11. Install the run channels into the door.
  12.
  13. Install the window into the door.
  14.
  15. Install the 3 regulator-to-window sash bolts.
  16.
  17. Install the inner belt sealing strip as follows:
    1. With the window in the up position, install the mirror bucket with the screws.
    2.
    3. Install the sealing strip hollow bulb over the mirror bucket bayonet. Make sure the joint is tight.
    4.
    5. Install the fasteners at the rear edge of the door.
    6.
    7. Push the sealing strip onto the flange and press down the entire length.
    8.

  18.
  19. Raise the window until it is 1 in. (25mm) below full up, then tighten the front and rear upper run channel bolts to 97 inch lbs. (11 Nm).
  20.
  21. Loosen the window up stops.
  22.
  23. Check the window parallelism adjustment as follows:
    1. Raise the window to approximately 1 / 2 in. (12mm) below the full up position, checking the parallelism on the upstroke of window motion.
    2.
    3. The gap from the horizontal edge of the window to the weatherstrip should be even at the front and rear of the window.
    4.
    5. Adjust the parallelism by loosening and repositioning the inner cam bolts. Tighten the inner panel cam bolts to 97 inch lbs. (11 Nm).
    6.

  24.
  25. Loosen the regulator-to-window sash channel bolts and position the window rearward just enough to relieve the pressure of the window to pillar post weatherstrip. Snug the sash channel bolts.
  26.
  27. Set the rear upstop so the window will pass just under the weatherstrip outer lip and 1mm below the blow out clip as the door is being closed. Set the front upstop to maintain parallelism. Both upstops should contact the guide blocks simultaneously.
  28.
  29. Check window tip-in as follows:
    1. With the door in the open position and the window in the full up position, move the door toward the closed position until the upper rear corner of the window contacts the weatherstrip.
    2.
    3. The distance from the outer surface of the quarter panel to the door panel outer surface should not exceed 1 1 / 8 in. (30mm).
    4.
    5. If necessary, adjust the bevel gear adjusters which are accessed through the bottom of the door. The front and rear adjusters should be turned in equal amounts so that there is sufficient and/or even weatherstrip compression.
    6.
    7. If the bevel gear adjuster travel is not sufficient to allow the adjustment needed, reposition the front and rear run channel guide blocks inward or outward, as required.
    8.

  30.

NOTE
High door closing effort can result if the window tip-in is adjusted too far inward. Door closing effort with the window lowered should increase only slightly with the window fully raised. The window should be cycled and the door closed several times to verify door window performance.

  1. Loosen the regulator-to-window sash channel bolts and position the window forward to achieve water/wind noise seal at the pillar post weatherstrip. Tighten the regulator-to-sash channel bolts to 97 inch lbs. (11 Nm).
  2.

NOTE
Moving the window forward too far will increase door closing effort and reduce window clearance to the blow out clip.

  1. With the window in the full up position, check for a smooth transition from bucket at mirror to window. Transition should be checked with slight outward pressure on the window or in the door closed position. Loosen the mirror attachment nuts and bucket attachment screws to reposition the bucket, as needed.
  2.
  3. With the window still in the full up position, raise the rear wedge until it lightly contacts the rear edge of the window. Tighten the wedge attachment screw to 27 inch lbs. (3 Nm), using a thin flat-bladed tool in the adjustment slot to keep the wedge from rotating when tightened.
  4.
  5. Install the window adjuster access plugs and the door lower molding.
  6.
  7. Install the water deflector and door panel.
  8.
