Wiper Motor

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1967 Models
  1. Make certain that the wiper motor is in the park position.
  2.  
  3. Detach the washer hoses and electrical connectors.
  4.  
  5. Remove the three motor bolts. Pull the wiper motor assembly from the cowl opening, and loosen the nuts retaining the drive rod ball stud to the crank arm.
  6.  

  1. Reverse the procedure to install, checking the sealing gaskets at the motor. Make sure the motor is in the park position before installation.

1968-70 Models

  1. Make sure that the wiper motor is in the park position.
  2.  
  3. Detach the washer hoses and electrical connectors.
  4.  
  5. Remove the plenum chamber grille or access cover. Remove the nut retaining the crank arm to the motor assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the retaining screws or nuts and remove the motor. Do not allow the motor to hang by the drive link.
  8.  
  9. Reverse the procedure to install, checking the sealing gaskets at the motor. Make sure the motor is in the park position before installation.

Your car may be equipped with either a round motor or a rectangular motor.

  1. Remove the screen or grille that covers the cowl area.
  2.  
  3. Working under the hood, disconnect the motor wiring. Then, reach through the cowl opening and loosen, but do not remove, the nuts which attach the transmission drive link to the motor crank arm. Then, disconnect the drive link from the crank arm.
  4.  
  5. Remove the three motor attaching screws, and remove the motor, guiding the crank arm through the hole.
  6.  
  7. Installation is in the reverse order of removal. The motor must be in the park position before assembling the crank arm to the transmission drive link(s).
