REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



5-Speed Transmission

See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Detach the sensor electrical connector.
  6.

  1. Unfasten the speed sensor retaining bolt/screw from the transmission, then remove the sensor.
  2.  
  3. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Tighten the retaining bolt torque to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  4.  

6-Speed Transmission

See Figure 2

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Unplug the electrical connector from the electronic speed sensor.
  6.  
  7. Unfasten the attaching bolt, then remove the sensor from the transmission assembly.
  8.

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Tighten the sensor retaining bolt torque to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
