REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The track bar may also be referred to as the rear axle tie rod.

  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Place a jack or jackstands under the rear axle to support it.
  4.  
  5. Remove the track bar mounting fasteners. Remove the track bar.
  6.  
  7. Remove the track bar brace.
  8.

To install:
  1. Clean all of the track bar fasteners.
  2.  
  3. Position the track bar brace to the right-hand underbody brace bracket.
  4.  
  5. Hand-tighten the one bolt/screw and nut.
  6.  
  7. Position the track bar to the right-hand underbody brace bracket.
  8.  
  9. Hand-tighten the other bolt/screw and nut.
  10.  
  11. Tighten the bolt/screws to 35 ft. lbs. (47 Nm) and the nuts to 61 ft. lbs. (82 Nm).
  12.  
  13. Install the remaining bolts/screw and nut, then tighten the nut to 61 ft. lbs. (82 Nm).
  14.  
  15. Remove the rear axle support, then carefully lower the vehicle.
