Cruise Control Module

The module is located under the left side of the instrument panel inside the vehicle.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the left side instrument panel undercover.
  4.  
  5. Slide the cruise control module from the mounting bracket.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the connector and remove the module assembly.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

The module is located on the left wheelhouse in the engine compartment.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the module wire connector.
  4.  
  5. Compress the cable conduit tangs and pull the cable out of the housing.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the cable bead from the cruise motor band end fitting on the module assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the module mounting bolts.
  10.  
  11. Remove the module assembly.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Install the module assembly and secure with mounting bolts.
  2.  
  3. Attach the cable bead to the cruise motor band end fitting on the module.
  4.  
  5. Pull the engine end of cable until taunt.
  6.  
  7. Turn the engine end of the cable assembly until band is flat. The band must not be twisted.
  8.  
  9. Slide the cable conduit over the band until the tangs of the conduit engage the holes in the module housing.
  10.  
  11. Connect the module wiring harness.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Check for proper cruise control action, adjust the cable as necessary.
  14.  

ADJUSTMENT

  1. Remove the air cleaner and resonator.
  2.  
  3. Unlock the cable conduit at the support bracket.
  4.  
  5. With the throttle lever closed, lock the cable conduit by pressing down on the lock tab.
  6.  

When the lock tab is in the UP unlocked position and the throttle is closed, the spring loaded cable adjuster takes up the appropriate amount of cable slack. The lock tab must be fully UP to allow cable to be properly adjusted.

  1. Install the air cleaner and resonator. Check for proper cruise control operation
  2.
