REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1990
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect cruise control switch connector at the base of steering column. it may be necessary to remove an under dash panel or trim piece for access.
  4.  
  5. Make sure lever is in CENTER or OFF position.
  6.  
  7. Pull lever straight out of retaining clip within the steering column.
  8.  
  9. Attach mechanic's wire or similar to the end of the harness connector; gently pull the harness through the column, guiding the pull wire through the column.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Place the transmission selector in LOW or 1 . Attach the mechanic's wire to the new switch harness connector. Gently pull the harness into place, checking that the harness is completely clear of any moving or movable components such as tilt-column, telescoping column, brake pedal linkage, etc.
  2.  
  3. Position the lever and push it squarely into the retainer until it snaps in place.
  4.  
  5. Remove the mechanics' wire and connect the cruise control harness connector.
  6.  
  7. Reinstall any panels or insulation which were removed for access.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery terminal.
  10.  

1991-93
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering column cover at the switch.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect switch connector behind the steering column cover.
  6.  
  7. Make sure the windshield wiper is in OFF position.
  8.  
  9. Pull lever straight out of retaining clip within the steering column.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install the lever by pushing it in firmly.
  2.  
  3. Connect the switch wire connector.
  4.  
  5. Install the steering column cover.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.
