1990
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the ash tray.
  4.  
  5. Remove the instrument panel compartment.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the air conditioning and heater cables.
  8.  
  9. Remove the air conditioning and radio trim plate.
  10.  
  11. Remove the radio and air conditioning heater control assembly.
  12.  
  13. Remove the screws holding the bracket to the trim plate and remove the bracket. Disconnect the radio wiring harness and antenna.
  14.  
  15. Remove the screws holding the radio to the bracket and remove the radio.
  16.  

To install:
  1. Position the radio in the bracket and attach with screws.
  2.  
  3. Connect the radio wiring harness and antenna. Attach the trim plate to the bracket with screws.
  4.  
  5. Connect the radio and air conditioning heater control assembly.
  6.  
  7. Connect the air conditioning and heater cables.
  8.  
  9. Attach the instrument panel compartment and insert the ash tray.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  

1991-93
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  

This vehicle is equipped with an air bag system, make certain to follow the recommended disarming procedure before, or arming procedure after, repairs.

  1. Remove the left hand trim plate:
    1. Remove the steering column opening filler.
    2.  
    3. Open the instrument panel compartment door and carefully unsnap the right side molding from the carrier.
    4.  
    5. Loosen the capsule nuts attaching the steering column support bracket to the carrier, to the end of the threads but do not remove from the bolts. Gently lower the steering column.
    6.  
    7. Remove the 6 screws attaching the trim plate to the carrier and carefully unsnap and pull away.
    8.  

  2.  
  3. Remove the 3 screws attaching the bracket to the carrier and remove the bracket and the attached radio from the carrier.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the body harness connector and the antenna lead from the radio.
  6.  
  7. Remove the 3 nuts attaching the bracket to the radio and if necessary remove the 3 bolts from the radio.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Attach the bolts to radio, if necessary, and use nuts to attach the radio to the bracket. Tighten nuts to 27 inch lbs. (3 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Attach the body harness and antenna connectors to the radio.
  4.  
  5. Use screws to attach the bracket to the carrier. Tighten screws to 17 inch lbs. (1.9 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Attach the left hand trim plate:
    1. Attach trim plate with screws and snaps.
    2.  
    3. Gently raise the steering column into place and attach with capsule nuts to the carrier.
    4.  
    5. Snap the right side molding to the carrier.
    6.  
    7. Attach the steering column opening filler.
    8.  

  8.  
  9. Attach the negative battery cable and enable the SIR system.
  10.
