REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Front Dash Mounted

See Figures 1 and 2

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Carefully pry gently upwards on the speaker grille with a suitable prytool and remove the grille.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the two screws retaining the speaker to instrument panel and pull the speaker partially out, to access the wiring.
  6.

  1. Detach the wiring connector, then remove the speaker from the vehicle.

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, ensuring that the speaker grille cover snaps snugly into place.

Front Door Mounted
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door trim panel for access to the speaker.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the retaining screws, then pull speaker out, detach the connector and remove the speaker from the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  8.  

Rear Mounted 2 and 4-Door Models

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Open the deck (trunk) lid.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the speaker cover retaining screws and remove the cover.
  6.  
  7. Detach the wiring harness connector.
  8.  
  9. Unfasten the spring hook from the spring retainer.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the speaker retaining tabs from the retaining slots, then remove the speaker.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  14.  

Rear Mounted Station Wagon

See Figure 4

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lift gate trim finishing panel.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the speaker retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Detach the wiring harness connector, then remove the speakers.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
