GM Cavalier/Sunbird/Skyhawk/Firenza 1982-1994

General Recommendations

Your car was primarily designed to carry passengers and cargo. It is important to remember that towing a trailer will place additional loads on your vehicle's engine, drivetrain, steering, braking and other systems. However, if you find it necessary to tow a trailer, using the proper equipment is a must.

Local laws may require specific equipment such as trailer brakes or fender mounted mirrors. Check your local laws.

Some early models equipped with the V6 engines were not recommended for trailer towing because of insufficient cooling system capacity. These vehicles could overheat. Check your owners manual or local GM dealer for any trailer towing warnings.
