Do not remove both shock absorbers at one time. Suspending the rear axle at full length could result in damage to brake lines and/or hoses.

  1. Open the trunk lid.
  2.  
  3. Remove the trim to access the coil-over shock retaining nut.
  4.  
  5. Remove the coil-over shock absorber retaining nut.
  6.  
  7. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Support the rear axle with safety stands.
  10.  
  11. Remove the bolts from the coil-over shock upper mount.
  12.  
  13. Remove coil-over shock lower mount through bolt.
  14.  
  15. Remove the coil-over shock.
  16.  

To install:
  1. Install coil-over shock absorber at the lower attachment. Install bolt hand-tight.
  2.  
  3. Install bolts to the coil-over shock mount.
  4.  
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Install the coil-over shock upper mount attaching nut.
  8.  
  9. Tighten the lower mount through bolt to 125 ft. lbs. (170 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Tighten the coil-over shock upper mount bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (28 Nm).
  12.  
  13. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle.
  14.  
  15. Tighten the upper coil-over shock retaining nut to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  16.  
  17. Install the trim.
  18.  
  19. Road test the vehicle.
