Oil Level Switch

OPERATION



The low oil level switch activates the OIL light in the instrument cluster when the oil level in the pan goes below a certain level. The switch is mounted on the oil pan.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Position a suitable drain pan under the switch.
  6.  
  7. Detach the switch connector harness.
  8.  
  9. Drain the engine oil into a suitable container.
  10.  
  11. Remove the oil level switch.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Install the oil level switch and tighten it to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Attach the switch harness connector.
  4.  
  5. Carefully lower the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Add the correct type and amount of engine oil to the crankcase, then connect the negative battery cable.
