REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the temperature control assembly from the dash.
  4.  
  5. Remove the lower instrument panel sound insulator.
  6.  
  7. Tag and disconnect the cable(s) at the module.
  8.  
  9. Remove the cables.
  10.

To install:
  1. Attach the cables in there proper locations, make sure any retaining clips are seated properly.
  2.  
  3. Install the lower instrument panel sound insulator.
  4.  
  5. Install the control assembly.
  6.  
  7. Adjust the cables as needed.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable, tighten the cable bolt to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Reset the radio, clock and any other applicable electronic devices.
  12.  

ADJUSTMENT



Without Sliding Clips
  1. Attach the cable to the control assembly.
  2.  
  3. Place the control lever in the OFF position.
  4.  
  5. Place the opposite loop of cable on the lever or actuator post.
  6.  
  7. Push the sheath toward the lever until the lever or actuator seats and the lash is out of the cable and control.
  8.  
  9. Tighten the screw to secure the cable.
  10.  

With Sliding Clips
  1. Place the control lever in the COLD position.
  2.  
  3. Place the clip of the cable on the heater case temperature door post.
  4.  
  5. Push the control head lever towards the HOT position, until the temperature door seats and the spring back is out of the cable and control.
