  16.
  17. Unfasten the Electronic Ride Control (ERC) electrical connections and air lines, and disconnect the height sensor arm from the bracket stud.
  18.
  19. Detach the brake line/ERC sensor bracket to the left control arm.
  20.
  21. Disconnect the exhaust support bolt (above the cradle).
  22.
  23. Scribe the relationship of the propeller shaft to the rear axle pinion flange, then remove the four shaft-to-differential bolts and suspend the propeller shaft with wire.
  24.
  25. Remove the cradle-to-underbody bracket bolts, 4 on each side.
  26.
  27. Install a spring compressor tool J-33432 or an equivalent onto the leaf spring.

To install:
  1. Raise the axle enough to connect the differential vent tube, then raise completely to align the cradle mount bores.
  2.
  3. Attach the four cradle mount bolts and tighten to 103 ft. lbs. (140 Nm).
  4.
  5. Remove the transaxle jack.
  6.

  8.
  9. The strut upper mount bolts and nuts need to be tightened to 28 ft. lbs. (38 Nm). Then lower the vehicle and install the mount nuts in the luggage compartment.
  10.
  11. Raise the vehicle again, then remove the spring compression tool.
  12.
  13. Attach the cradle brace-to-underbody bracket bolts, then tighten to 28 ft. lbs. (38 Nm).
  14.
  15. Connect the four propeller shaft-to-differential bolts, and tighten to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
  16.
  17. Install the exhaust support bolt above the cradle, then tighten to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  18.
  19. Attach the bolt securing the brake line/ERC sensor bracket to the left control arm, then tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (24 Nm).
