Wiper Motor

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the wiper arms.
  4.  
  5. Remove the cowl cover.
  6.

  1. When lifting the cowl up disconnect the washer nozzle hoses.
  2.

  1. Loosen (but do not remove) the drive link-to-crank arm attaching nuts and detach the drive link from the motor crank arm.

  1. Unplug the wiper motor electrical connector.
  2.

  1. Remove the wiper motor attaching bolts.
  2.

  1. Remove the wiper motor, guiding the crank arm through the hole.
  2.  

To install:
  1. Insert the wiper motor, guiding the crank arm through the hole.
  2.  
  3. Guide the crank arm through the opening in the body and then tighten the mounting bolts to 4-6 ft. lbs. (5-8 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the drive link to the crank arm with the motor in the park position.
  6.  
  7. Install the wiper motor attaching bolts.
  8.  
  9. Engage the electrical connectors.
  10.  
  11. Connect the wiper arm drive link to the crank arm.
  12.  
  13. Install the cowl cover.
  14.  
  15. Install the wiper arms.
  16.  
  17. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the cable bolt to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
  18.  
  19. Reset the radio, clock and any other applicable electronic devices.
  20.
