Rear Speakers

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1988-92 Vehicles
BERETTA and CORSICA SEDAN

See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Detach the wire connectors.
  4.  
  5. Disengage the retainers from the tab.
  6.  
  7. Remove the speaker assembly from the vehicle.
  8.

To install:
  1. Insert the tabs on the speaker into the slots in the rear window panel.
  2.  
  3. Place the retainers into the tab.
  4.  
  5. Attach the wire connectors.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  

CORSICA HATCHBACK

See Figure 2

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Use a flat-bladed tool, carefully pry the speaker cover from the housing.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker-to-housing fasteners.
  6.  
  7. Detach the wire connector, then remove the speaker from the vehicle.
  8.

To install:
  1. Place the speaker on the housing.
  2.  
  3. Attach the speaker wire connector.
  4.  
  5. Install the speaker-to-housing fastener.
  6.  
  7. Install the cover by pressing it into place.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  

BERETTA CONVERTIBLE

See Figure 3

The rear speakers on the Beretta convertible are incorporated in the rear quarter trim panel.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear quarter trim panel.
  4.  
  5. Detach the speaker wire connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the speaker push-on nuts, then remove the speaker from the vehicle.
  8.  
  9. Remove the speaker cover grille.
  10.

To install:
  1. Install the speaker cover grille to the tray.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker and push-on nuts.
  4.  
  5. Attach the speaker wire connector.
  6.  
  7. Install the rear quarter trim panel.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  

1993-96 Vehicles

See Figure 4

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear seat-to-back window trim panel, as follows:
    1. Remove the rear seat cushion.
    2.  
    3. Remove the rear seat back.
    4.  
    5. Remove the center high-mounted stop light and the stop light bracket.
    6.  
    7. Remove the fasteners, then remove the trim panel.
    8.

  5. Remove the rear radio speaker retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Remove the rear radio speaker from the shelf panel, then detach the connector and remove the speaker from the vehicle.

To install:
  1. Feed the connector through the speaker opening in the shelf panel and secure to the speaker.
  2.  
  3. Position the speaker into the opening with the connector terminals pointing toward the center of the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Install the speaker retaining screws and tighten them securely.
  6.  
  7. Install the rear seat-to-back window trim panel, as follows:
    1. Position the trim panel, aligning the slots in the trim panels to the holes in the body panel.
    2.  
    3. Install the retaining fasteners.
    4.  
    5. Install the center high-mounted stop light bracket and light.
    6.  
    7. Install the rear seatback and rear seat cushion.
    8.  

  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.
