REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Front

See Figure 1

1988-91 VEHICLES
  1. Remove the trim panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the inner belt sealing strip and front upper bumper.
  4.  
  5. Loosen the water deflector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the two front run channel retaining screws and remove the channel.
  8.  
  9. Remove the front run channel retainer.
  10.  
  11. Remove the rear run channel retainer.
  12.  
  13. Disengage the lower sash channel with the glass in the half down position and rotate the glass and lift the glass up and inboard of the door frame.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Lower the glass into the door and engage the lower sash channel to regulator. Raise the glass to the full up position.

  1. Install the rear run channel retainer.
  2.  
  3. Install the front run channel retainer.
  4.  
  5. Install the front run channel.
  6.  
  7. Install the inner belt sealing strip and front upper bumper.
  8.  
  9. Install the channel screws and tighten to 80-106 inch lbs. (9-12 Nm
  10.  
  11. Install the water deflector and the trim panel.
  12.  

1991-92 VEHICLES
  1. Remove the trim panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door armrest hanger plates by drilling out the rivet with a 3 / 16 in, drill bit.
  4.  
  5. Peel off the water deflector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the inner panel sealing strip.
  8.  
  9. Remove the rear run channel guide.
  10.  
  11. Remove the front run channel.
  12.  
  13. Remove the front run channel retainer.
  14.  
  15. Disengage the sash channel with the window in the half down position, rotate and lift the window up and out of the door frame.
  16.  

To install:
  1. Install the front glass channel and guide.
  2.  
  3. Lower the glass into the door and engage the lower sash channel to regulator. Raise the glass to the full up position.
  4.  
  5. Install the front run channel retainer 2 bolts but do not tighten.
    1. Cycle the glass to the full down position.
    2.  
    3. Align the retainer and tighten to 97 inch lbs. (11 Nm).
    4.  

  6.  
  7. Install the inner belt sealing strip.
  8.  
  9. Install the water deflector.
  10.  
  11. Install the hanger plates, using new rivets.
  12.  
  13. Install the trim panel.
  14.  

Rear

See Figures 2, 3 and 4

1988-90 VEHICLES
  1. Remove the trim panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  4.  
  5. Loosen the water deflector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the two front run channel retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Mask the outboard side of the front run channel with protective tape.
  10.  
  11. Place a wedge between the front run channel and the door outer panel.
  12.  
  13. Lower the glass to the bottom of the door and remove the remove the front portion of the glass run channel from the front door frame.
  14.  
  15. Remove the glass, making sure the rear guide on the glass is disengaged from the division channel and lifting the glass upward and outboard of the door frame.

To install:
  1. Install the glass to the door from the outboard side of the door frame.
  2.  
  3. Lower the glass to the bottom of the door and install the front portion of the glass run channel to the front door frame.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear guide on the glass to the channel.
  6.  
  7. Install the two front run channel retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the wedge and masking tape.
  10.  
  11. Check the window for proper operation.
  12.  
  13. Install the water deflector.
  14.  
  15. Install the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  16.  
  17. Install the trim panel.
  18.  

1991-92 VEHICLES
  1. Remove the trim panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
  4.  
  5. Remove the door armrest hanger plates by drilling out the rivet with a 3 / 16 in. drill.
  6.  
  7. Loosen the water deflector.
  8.  
  9. Mask the outboard side of the front run channel with protective tape.
  10.  
  11. Remove the regulator to lower sash bolts.
  12.  
  13. Lower the glass to the bottom of the door and remove the remove the front portion of the glass from the run channel.
  14.  
  15. Remove the two front run channel retaining screws.
  16.  
  17. Place a wedge between the front run channel and the door outer panel.
  18.  
  19. Remove the glass, making sure the rear guide on the glass is disengaged from the division channel and lifting the glass upward and through the access created by wedging the division channel and door panel.
  20.  

To install:
  1. Install the glass to the door from the outboard side of the door frame.
  2.  
  3. Lower the glass to the bottom of the door and install the front portion of the glass run channel to the front door frame.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear guide on the glass to the channel.
  6.  
  7. Install the 2 regulator to sash retaining bolts and tighten to 75 inch lbs. (8.5 Nm).
  8.

  1. Remove the wedge and masking tape.
  2.  
  3. Check the window for proper operation.

  1. Install the water deflector.

  3. Install the hanger plate using new rivets.
  4.  
  5. Install the inner and outer belt sealing strip.
