REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1988-90 Vehicles

See Figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8

The armrest on the four door models is an integral part of the trim panel. The armrest on the two door models is retained by screws and inverted nuts from the back side of the trim panel and requires trim panel removal.

On models equipped with power window switches make sure the ignition is in the off position to eliminate the possibility of accidentally shorting out the switch with a metal tool.

  1. Remove the door trim retaining screws on the two door models.
  2.
  3. On the four door models, remove the armrest pull cups.
  4.
  5. Remove the window regulator handle, if present.
  6.
  7. Disconnect the switches if present.
  8.
  9. Remove the trim panel using tool J-24595B or equivalent to disengage the fasteners on the trim panel from the holes in the door inner panel.
