REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - Front Bumper

  1. Raise the headlights to get more working room.
  2.  
  3. Remove the splash shield and lower cover plate.
  4.  
  5. If equipped, remove the license plate and bracket from the front cover.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the light bulbs from the parking lamps.
  8.  
  9. Remove the grilles and lenses.
  10.  
  11. Remove the corner reinforcements on each side of the vehicle.
  12.  
  13. Remove nuts from the studs holding the bumper cover to the body, then remove the cover.
  14.  
  15. Remove the bolts from both outboard ends of the bumper bar and bolts from the lower guard reinforcement. Remove the center bolts from the frame extension brace.
  16.  
  17. Remove the front bumper and cushion assembly.
  18.  
  19. If disassembly is required, perform the following:
    1. From the front, remove the two bolts holding the reinforcement to the bumper bar.
    2.  
    3. Remove the reinforcement from the bumper bar.
    4.  
    5. Separate the cushion from the bumper bar by removing the pop rivets.
    6.

  21. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

  1. Remove the license plate and disconnect the lamps from the bumper cover.
  2.  
  3. Unfasten the nut from the studs holding the cover to the body.
  4.  
  5. Remove the lenses and housing; disconnect the electrical wiring.
  6.  
  7. Remove the screws from each housing well.
  8.  
  9. Remove the rear cover.
  10.  
  11. Unfasten the 8 retaining nuts (4 from each side) holding the bumper bar to the energy absorbers.
  12.  
  13. If disassembly is required, perform the following:
    1. Remove the energy absorber brackets.
    2.  
    3. Remove the two cover reinforcements.
    4.  

  14.  
  15. Transfer any necessary parts to the new bumper. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
