REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



The desiccant bag can be replaced on the evaporator systems by removing the receiver shell. On Cycling Clutch Orifice Tube (CCOT) systems, the entire accumulator must be replaced since it is a sealed unit.

  1. Discharge the system using a proper recycling/recovery system. Precise control is possible only when using a proper A/C refrigerant recovery station.

  3. If you do not have access to these tools this service can be performed by a reputable shop.
  4.  
  5. Clean dirt from the outside of the receiver shell.
  6.  
  7. Remove the receiver shell attaching screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the mounting bracket clamp from the mounting bracket.
  10.  
  11. Hold the housing and push on the lower end of the receiver to break the seal.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Add one ounce of new refrigerant oil and a new desiccant bag. Use new O-ring seals and coat with refrigerant oil.
  2.  
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal, torque the mounting screws to 7 ft. lbs. (9 Nm)
  4.  
  5. Evacuate and recharge the system using a proper recycling/recovery system. Precise control is possible only when using a proper A/C refrigerant recovery station.
