Rocker Arm (or Valve) Cover

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Left Side (Front)
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the serpentine belt.
  4.  
  5. Remove the alternator brace.
  6.  
  7. Remove the spark plug wire harness.
  8.  
  9. Remove the valve cover bolts, cover, and gasket.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Thoroughly clean and dry all mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.
  2.  
  3. Install the gasket, cover and bolts. Tighten to 88 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the spark plug wires.
  6.  
  7. Install the alternator brace and belt.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable and check for leaks.
  10.  

Right Side (Rear)
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the serpentine belt. Loosen the power steering bolts and slide the pump forward.
  4.  
  5. Remove the power steering pump braces.
  6.  
  7. Remove the egr pipe, valve, and adapter from the throttle body, if equipped.
  8.  
  9. Remove the spark plug wires.
  10.  
  11. Remove the valve cover bolts, cover, and gasket.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Thoroughly clean and dry all mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.
  2.  
  3. Install the gasket, cover and bolts. Tighten to 88 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the spark plug wires.
  6.  
  7. Install egr components if removed.
  8.  
  9. Install the power steering pump brace and secure the pump.
  10.  
  11. Install the serpentine belt.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable and check for leaks.
  14.
