Print

LOCK CYLINDERS

Apply graphite lubricant sparingly through the key slot. Insert the key and operate the lock several times to be sure that the lubricant is worked into the lock cylinder.

DOOR HINGES AND HINGE CHECKS

Spray a rust inhibiting lubricant on the hinge pivot points to eliminate any binding conditions. Open and close the door several times to be sure that the lubricant is evenly and thoroughly distributed.

TRUNK LID OR TAILGATE

Spray a silicone lubricant on all of the pivot and friction surfaces to eliminate any squeaks or binds. Work the tailgate to distribute the lubricant

BODY DRAIN HOLES

Be sure that the drain holes in the doors and rocker panels are cleared of obstruction. A small screwdriver can be used to clear them of any debris.

WASHING, WAXING AND GLASS CARE

Wash your car whenever it is soiled with dirt, salt or other road debris. Use soap designated as car washing soap mixed according to the instructions provided with the soap. To prevent paint scratches, wet the car down thoroughly prior to touching, and wash with a soft cloth. Be sure to spray water into the wheel wells and under the body to loosen any damaging dirt or salt. Always dry the body thoroughly after washing to prevent water spots. Wax the car at least seasonally with a good quality automotive wax. Also, clean the windows (inside and outside) with window cleaner often to enhance good road vision and improve the longevity of the wiper blades. Check the fluid level of the windshield washer reservoir and fill with solvent often.
