REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Refer to the Air Bag section at the beginning of this Section, and disarm the Air Bag system. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lower instrument panel trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the glove box assembly.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical and vacuum connectors from the programmer.
  8.  
  9. Unclip and pry off the driver air mix valve link.
  10.  
  11. Remove the retaining screws.
  12.  
  13. Slide the programmer off of its tabs and remove.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Slide the programmer onto its tabs.
  2.  
  3. Install the retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Secure the driver air mix valve link.
  6.  
  7. Connect the electrical and vacuum connectors to the programmer.
  8.  
  9. Install the glove box assembly.
  10.  
  11. Install the lower instrument panel trim plate.
  12.  
  13. Adjust the air mix valve link.
  14.  
  15. Refer to the Air Bag section at the beginning of this Section, and arm the Air Bag system.
  16.  

AIR MIX VALVE LINK ADJUSTMENT



  1. Start the engine and set the temperature control to 90°F (32°C or its warmest position.
  2.  
  3. Allow the car to run for 10 minutes. The programmer output cranks should have moved to the warmest position.
  4.  
  5. Gently pull the driver air mix valve crank toward the programmer until the valve hits its stop.
  6.  
  7. Push the threaded portion of the link into the slot on the plastic pin on the driver air mix valve crank.
