REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The reservoir with the fluid level sensor is the only replaceable component on the pmv assembly. It may be replaced without removing the pmv assembly from the vehicle.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the reservoir.
  2.
  3. Loosen or reposition the clamp on the hose at the pmv reservoir.
  4.
  5. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir. Catch escaping fluid in a clean container; plug the hose with a 5 / 8 inch (15.5mm) diameter plug.
  6.
  7. Carefully pry or force the reservoir free of its rubber mounts on the pmv assembly.
  8.
  9. Remove the rubber seals from the pmv; take note of the orientation or placement of the seals.
  10.

To install:

  1. Fit new seals to the pmv assembly. Lubricate the new seals with clean brake fluid. Make certain the seals are correctly installed.
  2.
  3. Clean the reservoir and ports with denatured alcohol. Install the reservoir onto the pmv assembly.
  4.
  5. Connect the hose to the reservoir and secure the clamp.
  6.
  7. Connect the reservoir wiring connector.
  8.
  9. Fill the reservoir with clean, fresh brake fluid.
  10.
  11. Bleed the brake system.
  12.
  13. Clean any spilled brake fluid from the pmv assembly and surrounding area to prevent damage to other components or paintwork.
