Tail Pipe(s)

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle on jackstands.
  2.  
  3. Spray all fasteners, which are to be removed, with penetrating oil to aid with removal.
  4.  
  5. Remove the U-bolt nuts on the tail pipe(s) at the muffler connection.
  6.  
  7. Remove the U-bolt clamps from the pipe(s).
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the pipe(s) from the muffler and unhook any pipe hangers. Remove the tail pipe(s) from the vehicle.
  10.  

Separating exhaust pipes from one another or from a component, such as the muffler, can be very difficult. Patience and the proper exhaust service tools, such as cut-off wheels and torches, are a great advantage when working with these parts.

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure to position the tail pipe(s) properly, with all hangers securely attached, BEFORE tightening any clamp nuts. Also make certain to tighten the U-bolt clamp nuts evenly and securely to prevent exhaust leaks.
