SIX-CYLINDER ENGINES 1967-69 Models



The engine code is stamped on the engine block behind the oil filler tube at the point where the cylinder head mates with the block.

1970-76 Models

On the OHV six, the engine code is stamped on the right-side of the engine block on the distributor mounting plate.

1977-81 Models See Figure 1

On all V6 engines, the engine serial number and the code number are stamped on the right cylinder head cover.

The engine serial number on V8 engines is located on a pad on the front of the engine block. It will be below the right or the left cylinder head depending on the particular engine.
