For wiper blade element replacement, please refer to Repair Guide .

Removal of the wiper arms requires the use of a special tool, GM J8966 or its equivalent. Versions of this tool are generally available in auto parts stores.

  1. Insert the tool under the wiper arm and lever the arm off the shaft.
  2.

Raising the hood on most later models will facilitate easier wiper arm removal.

  1. Disconnect the washer hose from the arm (if so equipped). Remove the arm.
  2.
  3. Installation is in the reverse order of removal. The proper park position for the arms is with the blades approximately 2 in. (50mm) above the lower molding of the windshield. Be sure that the motor is in the park position before installing the arms.
  4.
