REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Properly support the rear axle assembly.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the shock absorbers from the anchor plate. Matchmark the driveshaft and the pinion flange. Remove the driveshaft and position it out of the way.
  4.  
  5. Remove the brake line junction block from the axle housing. Disconnect the axle vent hose from the vent connector and position it to the side.
  6.  
  7. Remove the brake drums. Disconnect the parking brake cables at the actuating levers and at the flange plate.
  8.  
  9. Remove the U-bolts and anchor plates. Remove the axle housing from the vehicle.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
