REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Front Fender

See Figures 1 and 2

  1. Raise and support the hood.
  2.  
  3. Remove the headlamp bezel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the right or left radiator grille molding nuts.
  6.  
  7. Remove the upper and lower molding clip nuts.
  8.  
  9. Remove the radiator grille molding.
  10.  
  11. Remove the lower radiator grille to fender bolts.
  12.  
  13. Remove the cowl vent grille.
  14.  
  15. Remove the hood spring assembly.
  16.  
  17. Remove the radiator support to fender bolts.
  18.  
  19. Remove the wheelhouse panel to shield bolts.
  20.  
  21. Remove the shield to underbody retainers.
  22.  
  23. Remove the shield.
  24.  
  25. Remove the wheelhouse panel to fender bolts.
  26.  
  27. Remove the lower door pillar to fender bolt and shim.
  28.  
  29. Remove the fender to cowl bolt and shim.
  30.  
  31. Open the front door.
  32.  
  33. Remove the upper fender to door pillar bolt and shim.
  34.  
  35. Remove the fender from the vehicle.
  36.  
  37. Remove the insulator from the fender.
  38.  

To install:
  1. Attach the insulator to the fender.
  2.  
  3. Attach the fender to the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Loosely attach the upper fender to the door pillar and shim as required.
  6.  
  7. Loosely fasten the cowl bolt and shim as required.
  8.  
  9. Loosely attach the lower door pillar to the fender bolt and shim as required.
  10.  
  11. Reattach the radiator support to fender bolts. Tighten all bolts to 13 ft. lbs. (17 Nm).
  12.  
  13. Attach wheelhouse to fender bolts and tighten to 13 ft. lbs. (17 Nm).
  14.  
  15. Tighten the lower door pillar to fender bolt to 31 ft. lbs. (43 Nm).
  16.  
  17. Attach the shield to the vehicle.
  18.  
  19. Attach the wheelhouse panel to shield bolts.
  20.  
  21. Tighten the fender to cowl bolt and the upper fender to door pillar to 31 ft. lbs. (43 Nm).
  22.  
  23. Reattach the hood spring assembly.
  24.  
  25. Install the cowl vent grille.
  26.  
  27. Attach the lower radiator grille to fender bolts.
  28.  
  29. Install the grille molding.
  30.  
  31. Install the upper and lower grille molding clip nuts.
  32.  
  33. Install the upper and lower grille molding nuts.
  34.  
  35. Install the headlamp.
  36.  
  37. Install the headlamp bezel.

Fenderside style
  1. Disconnect the side marker wiring.
  2.  
  3. Remove the fender-to-brace bolts.
  4.  
  5. Remove the fender-to-side panel screws.
  6.  
  7. Lift off the fender.
  8.  
  9. Remove the side panel to brace bolt and brace.
  10.  
  11. Remove the cross sill to brace bolt.
  12.  
  13. Remove the sealer from the fender and the side panel.
  14.  
  15. Installation is the reverse of removal but install sealer between fender and flange. Tighten all fasteners to 13 ft. lbs. (17 Nm).

Dual Rear Wheel Model Fender
  1. Disconnect the side marker wiring.
  2.  
  3. Remove the fender-to-brace bolts.
  4.  
  5. Remove the fender-to-side panel screws.
  6.  
  7. Lift off the fender.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal but install sealer between fender and flange. Tighten all fasteners to 13 ft. lbs. (17 Nm).
